David helps families make thoughtful, long-term financial decisions with clarity. To him, success means using comprehensive financial planning to build a rock-solid, mutual understanding of the client’s path forward. By following a consistent framework and getting to know each client on a deep level, he helps them address every detail of their financial lives. This thorough process gives them confidence that their futures are protected and they’re well-positioned for the life they want to live.
Serving as a dedicated advocate and partner for his clients, David considers each family’s situation as if it were his own. He takes time to understand their priorities, pace, and comfort level, ensuring every recommendation is both personal and practical. Known for his collaborative and educational approach, he often uses visual aids during meetings to simplify complex topics and keep conversations clear and engaging.
David enjoys working with clients in every stage of life—from opening a first savings account to taking the first retirement distribution after decades of diligent saving. He believes every stage of life comes with unique emotions that can influence financial decision-making, and his role is to provide objective guidance that helps families avoid costly mistakes while staying focused on what matters most.
Retirement planning is especially meaningful to David. He finds great fulfillment in helping clients transition from years of disciplined saving to a retirement they can enjoy with confidence. He often tells clients that his ultimate goal is for them to throw a retirement party only once—because together, they built a “bulletproof” plan that empowers them to stay retired with peace of mind.
Above all, David believes financial planning is about more than numbers—it’s about helping families make decisions that support the experiences and legacies they value most.
History & Education
David’s passion for financial planning began at a young age after witnessing his parents experience poor financial advice from a financial institution during a difficult economic period. Watching his family navigate uncertainty and unanswered questions sparked a desire to better understand how financial decisions impact people’s lives—a desire that ultimately led him to a career in finance.
In 2009, David earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Stephen F. Austin State University and later completed a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Houston Clear Lake. He started his financial services career at Fidelity Investments in 2010, beginning in customer service before earning his licenses and moving into investment consulting and financial planning roles. In 2014, he earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation, and over time, he began working closely with high-net-worth families on comprehensive financial planning.
Today, David remains actively involved in the community that helped shape his career. Since 2019, he has volunteered with the CFP Board, mentoring future CFP® professionals and assisting with scholarship application reviews. He also serves on the University of Houston Clear Lake Finance Advisory Panel, where he collaborates with faculty, alumni, and industry professionals to strengthen student engagement and career development opportunities within the finance program.
Personal Life
David lives in the Clear Lake area with his wife Ashley; their three beautiful children, Vera, Violet, and Max; and their two goldendoodles, Dottie and Teddy. He and Ashley met through mutual friends at a crawfish boil and married in Jamaica in 2019 before starting their family in 2021.
Family is what fills David’s heart, and he’s passionate about spending quality time with his wife and kids. Together, they enjoy camping (at least once a month if they can), exploring state parks, visiting the beach, and traveling abroad to historic sites. David and Ashley also share a love of fishing and spent much of their early dating years kayak fishing together.
David and his family are active members of Bay Area Church, and their faith plays an important role in guiding their daily lives.
